Located on the Western Slope of Colorado
As the owner of Landscape Technologies, Inc., we have learned that quality, locally grown trees are hard to come by and essential to the satisfaction of our customers and our reputation for excellence. With that in mind, Elk Ridge Ranch of Mesa was established. All plant materials are chosen specifically with our customers concerns and preferences in mind. Our Coniferous (Pine/Evergreen Tree) and Deciduous (Shade or Leafy Tree) inventories were selected based on their hardiness, disease resistance and appropriateness for this area.
Elk Ridge Ranch of Mesa has established a service oriented tree farm, in that, we can provide personal selection, loading at our farm, delivery to your home or project and professional installation. All trees that we install will include a warranty.

The snow has melted in Grand Junction and people are rarrin’ to go for spring. They want trees!!! and boy do we have them….unfortunately they are under 21″ of snow that we got this weekend. Western Colorado got slammed with snow as did many other parts of the country, but hopefully it will melt quickly. We are anticipating waking our trees up from their long sleep.

I’m looking to get some trees to go against our back fence and create a privacy screen of sorts. I’ve heard lots about the Emerald Green Thuja and the “Thuja Green Giant”. Are these something you will have or do you have any other recommendations? I have about a 15′ wide area to cover and would like it to be at least 8-10′ tall pretty quickly. — Thanks!

Thuja (standishii x plicata)
Thuja ‘Green Giant’ is a large evergreen that is very adaptable. It tolerates a wide variety of soil types and is a rapid and vigorous grower. It is not troubled by significant pest or disease problems. Ican be used singly or as a screen. Zones 5 – 7. It will mature at 30 years and will grow up to 60 feet with a spread of 12 – 20 feet.
‘Emerald Green’ arborvitae usually reaches just 12′-14′, with a spread of 3′-4′.12′-14′, with a spread of 3′-4′.
As you can see Mark, these evergreen are very different from each other. Both are usually readily available from most nurseries. Read your tags!! Make sure you are getting what you want.
I hope this helps.
